Maths

Hi everyone,

Today I have attached a powerpoint which includes lots of mini challenges involving comparing numbers and quantities. Work your way through the powerpoint and try to encourage your child to complete the challenges as independently as possible.

Once you have finished it then your challenge is to find some groups of items around the house and to make an estimate of how many items there are, then count them to check. For example, can you estimate how many pieces of fruit are in the fruit bowl? Remember, an estimate is a sensible guess. How many teddies are in your room? How many spoons are there in the cutlery drawer?

What was the biggest group of objects that you found around your house? What was the smallest group of objects?

Have a great day everyone,
Miss Heafford
