Antonia

Hi Everyone,

Antonia here! PTFA Chair. I am pleased to say that we are building our PTFA through a great school. When my daughter started in foundation 2018 there was no PTFA in the school, for various reasons but then a group of us got together and made the plunge.

So here we are! Set up Oct 2019 and was just starting to come up with great ideas and in our short time before Covid we had arranged a Christmas Fayre, School Christmas Disco for all years and numerous Raffles with great success. We have a schedule of events and additional money-making ideas. Open to suggestions and parent/guardian assistance on events we do.

My daughter is in Year 3 and loves me being a part of the school through PTFA and I am also a Parent Governor at Richard Hill School. I am a local driving instructor with my own driving school.

Donna

My name is Donna and I am appointed Treasurer of Richard Hill PTFA.

Both my children go to Richard Hill School one in Foundation and one in Year 3. I am a lunchtime supervisor at Rothley School. I love being a part of the PTFA as it helps me help the school do better for the children and my children like the fact that I’m part of the school as well. I think it’s important to have a PTFA to help the school and to work together as a community to build our school as a family. I am also delighted to be supporting the Gardening Club Afterschool where we will be introducing planting seeds/growing and other gardening skills.

Daisy

Hi my names Daisy,

I have two children one of which is in year three at Richard Hill Primary School.

I work as a Nursery Practitioner in Early Years, I enjoy spending time outdoors doing activities and going on walks with the children especially when the weather is nice.

I am currently the secretary for the Richard Hill school PTFA.

Kirstie

Richard Hill School did not have a PTFA when my first child started and I was keen to be involved in setting one up. It has taken a little bit of time but we are here now! As well as raising money for the school, the current committee all share the same vision – to provide ‘extras’ for the children and to help parents feel part of the school and wider community.

I having been ‘acting Treasurer’ during set up of the PTFA as at the outset we all needed to take on a functional role. My two children are part way through the school and really love it. I work as a GP locally so am pretty used to working as part of a team. I also enjoy yoga, baking and a nice glass of wine. The latter two are more likely to be part of a committee meeting than the first, if any of you are interested in joining us?

Lindsey

I am a mum of two children who both attend Richard Hill. My daughter is in year 4 and my son is in year 2. I am a children’s nurse by background and now work for NHS England and Improvement as children’s transformation programme manager for the midlands. I joined the PTFA as I want to support the school to give the pupils greater opportunities to enhance their experience at the school. Post COVID we are hoping there will be increased opportunities to raise funds and run lots of events and activities.

Sarah

I’m Sarah Wheeler, mum to Lucy at Richard Hill School. I joined the PTFA to find out more about the school, meet other parents and hopefully do my bit to improve school life for the kids. We try and fund-raise to do fun events, and other treats for the kids that the school couldn’t otherwise afford. I work at the hospital, which keeps me very busy, but the PTFA isn’t a huge time-commitment, and it is rewarding doing things to make the kids smile.

Sammy

My name is Samantha I’m 36 and I live in Thurcaston with my 2 daughters (my eldest daughter is in year 3) and our chihuahua Dexter. I work at Richard Hill in the Amazing Afternoon and Afterschool clubs on Mon, Weds and Thurs. I am thoroughly enjoying my new position working with various ages of children and helping encourage new skills they are learning during this time. I joined RH PTFA to help support and engage in more school activities to support our children.
